Senior Engineer - Hydrodynamics

Company GVA is a world leading marine and offshore design company for semi-submersibles and other floating units.Over the years GVA has executed more than 100 projects in more than 20 countries.The company has its origin in GVA shipyard where the GVA series of semi-submersibles originally was developed and fabricated.Today the GVA Series of semi-submersibles has been further developed and refined and include a wide range of units with displacements from 13,000 to 145,000 tonnes.Based on the experience of well over 100 engineers deployed within conceptual design, naval architecture, structural design, marine and drilling systems, GVA provide high-value design solutions to each and every project.GVA has a strong customer base including many of the largest Oil and Gas companies in the world.GVA products and services allow it to support its customers with a wide range of services from the conceptual design throughout the projects?FEED and Execution, operation of facility, and even later when upgrade or conversion work is required.GVA is accustomed to follow the designs throughout all phases, and GVA has considerable experience of major vessel conversion project where semi-submersibles or FPSO?s has been successfully delivered.GVA?s range of project services includes: -Conceptual design.-Pre-FEED.-FEED and Basic Design.-Support expertise services in Detailed Design and and Fabrication -Support expertise services in Commissioning and Integration.-Support expertise services in Offshore Installation and final Commissioning.-Basic design for conversions or upgrades.-Consultation and project management services.-Research & development.GVA.with global Headquarters located in Gothenburg, Sweden, is a wholly owned subsidiary of KBR.GVA?s reputation has been built upon the company?s ability to provide cost-efficient, state-of-the-art, safe and environmentally sound design solutions.GVA is presently holding a healthy order book and the company is well positioned to capture further growth.Position The Hydrodynamics Senior Engineer will be apart of the Hydrodynamics department and will be reporting to the Group Manager.The primary reponsibilities will include: -Global Performance analysis.-Station keeping analysis, mooring or DP.-Hydrodynamic loading analysis, such as slamming and wave run up.-Verify and QA check the analysis work.-Leading and mentoring role within the Hydrodynamics analysis discipline.-External contacts with clients, yards, third party societies and vendors.-Development of the services and software tools within the discipline.Profile The ideal candidate has qualifications and competencies which primarily include: -Copmletion of a PhD or at least a M.Sc.degree in Naval architecture or similar.-Minimun 8 years experience of Hydrodynamics engineering experiance and/or Station keepning analysis work.-Experiace from Hydrodynamics and ststion keeping simulation software is requried.-Communicates fluently in both English and Swedish.-Initiates action to progress work and takes appropriate action to meet challenging goals, schedules or business needs.-Takes personal responsobility for own career path by actively seeking development opportunities.-Question the effectivness of current systems and processes and looks for ways to improve them.-Mentors others in self development by sharing experiences of both previous successes and failures.
