Purpose of the role
The Senior Formulation Chemist will report to the Formulation Manager, Colour. They will be responsible for developing and delivering Fragrance formulation projects within the NPD process. They will gather, interpret, and apply strategic Technical Insights. The role holder will have a proven track record in cosmetic formulation development with a strong focus on fragrance technology. They will have significant formulation development experience with excellent project management skills and ability to translate marketing focused briefs into high quality prototype solutions in an efficient time. They will be comfortable working with teams at varying levels of seniority, able to effectively communicate and work well under pressured timelines.
What will you Do?
Technical Insights
Full understanding and application of Fragrance Strategy and of Fragrance Brand positioning Gather and interpret Technical Insights and identify technology trends
Conduct technical analysis of competitor launches, to identify the technical approach used in state-of-the-art fragrance formulations
Classify the technical status of current technology, identify gaps and propose opportunities for Oriflame
Apply the output to support the development of a Fragrance technology strategy
Formulation Projects
Propose formulations with new benefits, new technologies, and priorities these in conjunction with the NPD Manager and Marketing
Deliver projects according to agreed implementation plans
Propose, agree and develop Partnerships with strategic collaborators in order to develop unique
ew technologies
Formulations Library
Understand the profile of both new product launches and the current Oriflame offer
Full understanding and application of the Oriflame Raw Material Portfolio and of Oriflame policies
Make proposals for the development of a library of formulations and prioritise in conjunction with R&D NPD manager.
Define ways of working and a communication strategy to ensure effective transfer of new Library knowledge and formulations into NPD
Embed and enhance the library formulation development process, ensure library remains dynamic

Your background and your qualifications
· 5 years (+) experience in Cosmetic Science
· BSc in Cosmetic Science or similar education as a minimum
· Professional written and verbal communication skills in English
