Senior hardware designer

Electronics engineer / Project manager SenseAir AB, a world leading company in development and production of NDIR (Non Dispersive Infra-Red) gas sensors, is looking for a qualified senior electronics hardware designer. Product design Our product is a mixed-signal embedded system based on an 8-bit microcontroller in combination with optical and electronic subsystems Work description As a senior hardware designer you will have a key role in the development of new products, production system and accessories. You will work in our R&D department together with 15 colleagues. Examples of common tasks: -Management of design projects with the goal of creating new products or new functions in existing products -Specification, design, implementation and maintenance of electronics hardware for sensors and production system equipment -Manage industrialization of new products -Define work packages for, and handle contacts with, external consultants working in design projects -Choice of components, materials and processes in hardware production, and being responsible for approving component changes in existing products -Documentation of technical requirements, verification specifications and technical descriptions -Test, evaluation and verification of hardware/software -Troubleshooting during development, verification and production stages We work in teams in co-operation with project manager, sales engineer, hardware designer, software designer, mechanical designer, quality assurance responsible, test engineer, production engineer and external consultants. Education / basis Probably you have a university degree in electronics and have been working for some years with electronics design. You are used to taking responsibility for design decisions and results. We expect you to have good knowledge, experience and interest in electronics design, components, packages, materials and processes in electronic hardware production. You should be self-motivated in solving development tasks, and be prepared to manage design projects. Communication and documentation in English is required since we cooperate with people from different countries and cultures. Mandatory merits -Project management and product responsibility -Analogue and digital circuit design for embedded systems -Design for manufacturability, accounting for component variations and environmental effects -Good skills in technical documentation and communication Desirable merits -Design quality assurance, for example ISO and other applicable standards -Design for high-volume production -Small-signal sensitive electronics designs and EMC/EMI design considerations -Experience in optical systems and components
