Senior Lead Engineer Telematics

The section Infotainment Connectivity is a relatively new part of the Driver Interaction and Infotainment department. The section responsibility include areas such as Telematics and Connectivity. The telematics system includes Telematic functions such as Volvo On Call functionality, emergency Call and mobile app, Telematic Electronic Control Modules (ECU) components and important interfaces towards IT backend system. Enablers for Telematic functions is the antenna, modem, SIM card and a variety of network operators. It also includes back up components such as speakers and microphones.

As Lead Engineer you will lead an internal development team to secure the needed deliveries to the projects. You will work with the latest technology in the telematics and connectivity area in which technologies evolve continually in order to meet customers' future requirements. The work is carried out in close cooperation with suppliers which means daily international contacts. The internal development team consists of both HW- and SW-engineers with great knowledge and experience in the area of Telematics. In order to be successful you will need a great deal of personal driving force and determination, as well as being able to get the team to cooperate in the best possible way. Securing a broad cross-functional network within the organisation is also crucial to be successful in the role.

Main responsibilities

* Lead the team meetings
* Lead, plan and monitor the team's deliveries according to the anchored project plans
* Summarise and present the deliveries to our internal customers
* Drive suppliers to deliver according to commonly set goals

Required qualifications

* M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, Automation or equivalent
* You have documented experience from assignment leadership.
* Documented leadership experience from automotive and electronics engineering
* Experience from SW development
* Strong verbal and writing communication skills
* Ability to independently plan, manage and monitor your and your team's work towards a global goal
* Passion for quality and cars
* Excellent English skills, verbally and in writing
* Driving License
