Who we are

We are a diverse team consisting of seven team members with a mix of age, gender and nationalities and with experience stretching between 1 and 25 years within the company. We all have our own areas of responsibility but take pride in supporting and challenging each other to find best solutions for Scania. Forming a climate where competence as well as opinions are openly shared is important for us.

Responsibilities 

In the role as Senior Purchaser, or Senior Sourcing Manager as we call it,  you will be responsible for Steel and Aluminium rims, Air suspension and Cab tilt system. For these segments, you will form and develop the supplier base and strategies and align cross functionally within Scania and Traton. Responsibility incudes both new projects and running business and you will work to meet targets for cost, delivery precision and sustainability to mention a few.  

Senior Sourcing Managers are also involved in contribute to the development of commercial competence within the department as well as guiding and supporting colleagues in e.g. negotiations and setting strategies.

Your profile

You are a person with great commercial track record and have the skill to form and carry through long terms strategies. You are passionate in doing business, a strong negotiator and enjoys learning about technology and the business of your suppliers.

To succeed in the role you need to be analytical and structured. You take own initiatives,  can act decisively when needed and have the capacity to handle multiple tasks in parallel. You are good at maintaining relationships and like to represent purchasing internally as well as towards suppliers in a professional way. You are self-driven with high integrity and eager to contribute to the development of our team and the purchasing organisation.

To take on this role we see that you have an academic degree in engineering, business or similar. You also have several years of experience from commercial roles within automotive purchasing, or other relevant background. Knowledge of Swedish is an advantage, fluent in spoken and written English is a requirement.
