About the Assignment
We are looking for a Senior QA Test Lead to own the end-to-end testing strategy for a Point of Sale (POS) ecosystem in a fast-paced, global retail environment. You will be responsible for safeguarding the customer experience at the final point of purchase, ensuring transactions are seamless, secure, and reliable across complex store systems where hardware and software must work flawlessly together.
Job DescriptionDefine and drive a comprehensive test strategy for POS hardware and software, including integrations with payment gateways, inventory systems, and CRM platforms.
Own the full testing lifecycle on the customer side, from lab-based hardware staging to real-world UAT in retail environments.
Act as the primary technical point of contact for stakeholders, aligning QA activities with business goals and rollout needs.
Identify and implement opportunities to automate regression testing for POS applications, while maintaining robust manual testing for hardware interactions.
Lead defect triage, prioritize critical issues, and collaborate closely with development teams to secure timely fixes before deployment.
Ensure test coverage of retail-specific flows such as multi-currency transactions, VAT/tax exemptions, promotional bundles, and complex return/exchange processes.
Requirements7+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance.
At least 3 years of experience in a QA Lead or management capacity.
Experience defining and implementing test strategy for solutions combining hardware and software.
Hands-on experience with QMetry for traceability, test case versioning, and reporting.
Expert-level experience with Jira, including integration with QMetry for bi-directional syncing.
Proficiency with RFID hardware (e.g., RFID scanners) and thermal printers.
Ability to communicate technical risks and quality status clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
Comfort working in environments where hardware logistics and software delivery run in parallel.
Nice to haveExperience testing POS solutions in fashion retail, including promotions and advanced returns/exchanges.
