We are looking for a Scientist or Senior Research Engineer to work with our expert Affinity ligand process development team in R&D Bioprocess, Uppsala, Sweden. This team is responsible for the development of the upstream, midstream and downstream process of new affinity ligands. The primary focus of this position is to plan and perform activities in the area of bacterial fermentation from lab scale to bioreactors in large scale. What you’ll do
Design, perform, analyze, document and present fermentation of recombinant proteins in different formats, from lab scale to bioreactors in large scale. Participate in the development and optimization of platform processes.
Provide technical expertise within the areas of bacterial fermentation and process development of recombinant proteins and solve technical problems, supporting both R&D projects and manufacturing of protein ligands.
Act as activity leader, design responsible in projects introducing new products and field expert reviewer.
Act as a mentor/local expert and support peers within the areas of bacterial fermentation and process development.
Present scientific and technical results internally and externally, oral and written communication in Swedish and English.

Who you are
PhD in Microbiology/Biochemistry or related Life Science field and/or a minimum of 5 years of experience from industrial development/ R&D in the bioprocess area.
Experience in bacterial fermentation in different formats, including bioreactor cultivation.
Experience in fermentation and process development for production of recombinant proteins.
Result-oriented, flexible and creative with a strong collaborative attitude.
Accurate and structured way of working.
Swedish and/or English as working language.
Good interpersonal skills/ Goal oriented team player.
