Arbetsbeskrivning
Proffice is now looking for an experienced protein biochemist for a 10-month temporary position placed in the protein engineering section of the Structural Chemistry Laboratory, AstraZeneca R&D Mölndal, Sweden. The candidate is expected to have a solid background in production of proteins for structural studies as well as a proven record in scientific projects. A suitable background is a PhD with postdoctoral experience or similar qualifications gained in an industrial setting. The position is laboratory based but also requires the generation of reports and presentations both internally and towards the lead discovery project teams. Familiarity with the workflow of a structural chemistry project is a plus. The global setting of the research projects and the cross-discipline nature of the work require a person that functions well within a team and has excellent communication skills. The Structural Chemistry Laboratory (SCL), Mölndal is a centre of excellence supporting the AstraZeneca discovery organizations in Sweden, UK and US. The main mission is to provide and promote the use of protein structural information in drug discovery with an increasing focus on assisting the lead generation process. The laboratory has now around 40 scientists engaged in experimental research and the core disciplines are protein engineering, NMR spectroscopy and protein crystallography. SCL is part of the global structural chemistry department and works closely together with the structural group in Alderley Park, UK.
