Start snarast. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Job Description - Senior Researcher Speech/Audio Codec and Packet Streaming Responsibilities: - Leading research in relevant projects, develop innovation in speech/audio codec and its streaming application area. - Researching, cooperating with industry (e.g. operators, commercial and non-commercial research institutes and vendors) to ensure the client is at the leading edge of new developments. This contact work may be through cooperation projects, workshops, face to face meeting and online collaboration etc. - Finding and breaking out new key technologies (whether by demonstration through research papers, or perhaps prototypes). This would include proposals for the product's future development. - Further, part of the brief includes the possibility of bringing such innovation to the appropriate technical standard and perhaps action to make a leading standard, and to develop and apply for the necessary patents. Qualifications Required: - More than 8 years experience in speech/audio codec research. - Thorough understanding technologies such as CELP, codebook design and search, VQ, PLC, MDCT, SBR, stereo or multi-channel, etc. Experiences of 3GPP streaming application would be welcome. - More than three years experience in research work. It would be desirable that the applicant should have operated as a technical leader or main participant, in at least one large or middle scale research project. Preferred skills: - Experienced in standardization work, standard position owned are preferred. - Excellent interpersonal skills as well as a team player. - Familiarity with research methodologies, requirement analysis, and architecture design, extensive understanding of mature architecture models in industry.
