Senior Scientist, Biotransformation

Proffice AB is listed on the Stockholmsbörsen (Stockholm Stock Exchange). Proffice is now seeking a Senior Scientist in biotransformation of drug candidates. You will work in Development DMPK & Bioanalysis at AstraZeneca R&D Mölndal, Sweden. The position is for 8 months with a starting date by 1st January. Development DMPK & Bioanalysis, Mölndal is responsible for the evaluation of kinetics and metabolism profile of candidate AstraZeneca drugs within the Cardiovascular and Gastrointestinal Therapeutic Area. The position requires a PhD in medicinal chemistry, organic or analytical chemistry or related subjects. A good understanding of organic chemistry and metabolic reaction pathways is required and a good knowledge in the enzymology of drug metabolism is important. An understanding of bioactivation pathways that form substances with potential toxicological significance is desirable. Experience with LCMSMS and/or NMR, particularly applied to small molecule structure elucidation in biological samples is desirable. It is required that you have previous experience of being in a leading role of some kind and furthermore skills in problem solving, communication and teamwork. A thorough knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry and regulatory requirements and experience in late stage drug development will be highly rated.
