We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior ServiceNow Configuration Manager with development skills. This individual will play a pivotal role in managing and configuring the ServiceNow platform while leveraging analytical expertise to address complex business challenges. The ideal candidate will translate challenging business requirements into innovative, scalable, and standards-compliant solutions within the ServiceNow ecosystem.
As discussed, please find the below request from client, we need a senior, long experienced ServiceNow resource for the next set of profiles.
Seniority in Integration experience / Integration hub
Experience in IT and Business stakeholder management as well as skilled to translate requirements to out-of-the-box functionality
Long experience with ServiceNow in general across several modules
Deep knowledge of the ServiceNow application as a whole with experience also but not limited to
Self-service portal, catalog items, order guides
Knowledgeable in IRM module (Integrated Risk Management – IRM)
Ideally the resource is engaged in the online ServiceNow Community where lots of experience is shared
Key Responsibilities
ServiceNow Configuration and Development:
• Configure, customize, and develop ServiceNow modules, including ITSM, ITOM, CSM, or other relevant applications.
• Design and implement scalable ServiceNow solutions using standard platform features and best practices.
• Manage the ServiceNow Configuration Management Database (CMDB) ensuring data integrity and compliance with organizational standards
• Create and maintain technical documentation for configurations, customizations, workflows, and integrations.
Business Analysis and Solutioning:
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document complex business requirements.
• Evaluate challenging business scenarios and design effective solutions using ServiceNow standard capabilities to minimize customizations.
• Conduct impact assessments for new requirements and recommend optimal implementation approaches.
• Provide technical expertise to facilitate decision-making, addressing gaps, risks, and opportunities within requirements.
Team Contribution and Collaboration:
• Mentor and guide junior developers and team members on ServiceNow development and configuration best practices.
• Collaborate with other team members and support each others for ServiceNow-related queries and escalations
• Stay updated with ServiceNow platform updates, new modules, and emerging trends.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT operations, business units, and external partners.
Required Skills and Qualifications
• Experience: Minimum 5-7 years of hands-on experience in ServiceNow configuration and development, with a focus on ITSM and at least one other module (e.g., ITOM, HRSD).
• Technical Expertise: Proficiency in ServiceNow scripting (JavaScript, Glide API), configuration, and administration. Strong knowledge of workflows, business rules, client scripts, and UI policies.
• Analytical Skills: Outstanding ability to analyze complex business requirements and propose practical, standards-aligned solutions.
• Integration Skills: Experience in integrating ServiceNow with other systems (e.g., REST/SOAP APIs, LDAP, and SSO).
• Certifications: ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) and/or Implementation Specialist certifications are highly desirable.
• Soft Skills: Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
• Familiarity with ITIL, SCRUM and SAFe processes, certifications are a bonus (e.g., ITIL Foundation).
• Experience with Agile methodologies and tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence).
• Knowledge of data analysis tools and techniques to support business insights.
