Senior Simulation Engineer, Powertrain System Analysis

We are now looking for a new colleague in the system simulation team for Volvo Powertrain Engineering. We are excited by the Volvo group fossil free ambition, that requires us all to work together to further improve fuel efficiency and reduce emissions. This includes further improvement to the ICE engine, adaption and optimization for new truck and powertrain concepts for alternative fuels like green H2 and HVO.


Work description:
As an R&D Engineer in the area of Powertrain System simulations, you will be involved in the design and evaluation of new concepts and technologies. MATLAB/Simulink and GT-SUITE will be your main tools for system simulations. You will perform complete powertrain simulations and support method development within this field, review simulation results and recommend improvements, work with virtual calibration and SiL environment and controls, participate in and driving from Proof of Concept to finished solutions, perform concept studies and present your conclusions with impact to our internal customers. You will work in an inclusive team environment in a collaborative way to create the best system solution with your engineering colleagues.


Skills:
Master’s degree in Engineering or equivalent education
Experience from working with simulations in MATLAB/Simulink and GT-SUITE, or similar
Experience from working in product development teams for automotive engineering
Experience in the field of controls and SiL

About the Simulation team
The group System Analysis & Simulation consists of ~12 simulation engineers within 3 different areas: 3D CFD, 1D flow system and Virtual test rig simulations. The overall mission for our simulations is to minimize fuel consumption (CO2) and emissions and improve features and quality for our customers.
