Senior Space System Engineer

The role’s focus is to work with systems engineering to define, design, develop, maintain and evolve Unibap SpaceCloud hardware and software and other space products. This include performing detailed space radiation analysis, customer mission assurance, adapt sensor and communication interfaces.
We believe you have worked several years with systems engineering within the space domain and had leading space systems engineering roles involving CubeSat and micro spacecraft. You have been part of several space mission projects in a leading role and can handle a customer relation with both commercial and government customers (e.g. European Space Agency/National Aeronautics and Space Administration). You communicate well and are a team player who can, from a technical point of view, lead a team of international and diverse engineers solving a more complex task. You know how to work with space mission and design requirements, design, and test to achieve the best result concerning both the project delivery and long-term maintenance. For this position you need to have extensive experience with space environment reliability and have performed radiation testing campaigns as well as performed thermal vacuum, vibration, shock, and electrical design verification.
You are a good leader, coach, team player and without prestige, and do not mind helping with all sorts of tasks to, with you colleagues, perform successful projects.
Main tasks:
System engineering tasks regarding SpaceCloud™ framework in every aspects of the production from requirements, design, test to maintainability
Work with the project manager and the engineering team as the technical lead in projects
Be part of customer and subcontractor communication, maintenance, and support
Work with FMECA
Work with tests regarding domain specific challenges, especially radiation testing
Participate in tendering/quotation work



Secondary tasks:
Give support and educate customers
Participate in road map and plan for future work
Participate in fairs and exhibitions
Sometime act as a project manager

Very good knowledge in ECSS/CCSDS/NASA 7120 standards and processes (e.g. Orbital Debris Assessment Reports, Design reference missions, satellite communication)
Highly experienced in new space system design and trade-offs
Highly experienced in space environment testing (e.g. radiation testing (SEU, SEL, SEFI, TiD).
Experienced in failure mode effects and critical analysis (FMECA)
Space domain in general
