Are you a skilled System Administrator with expertise in network administration? Do you thrive in a dynamic, international environment? Join Infrastructure Management Operations team at the European External Action Service (EEAS) and play a crucial role in ensuring seamless network connectivity across EU headquarters and EU Delegations.

Freelance Contract
Responsibilities:
Monitor and maintain the EEAS Data Centre Network:
Utilize available tools to ensure fast, reliable, and secure end-to-end network connections (LAN/WAN) in all buildings and Delegations.
Promptly inform and collaborate with the responsible EEAS service component owner to address any network abnormalities and take corrective actions.
Manage HP switches in headquarters and Delegations, including installation configuration and troubleshooting.
Perform daily, weekly, and monthly operational tasks to ensure optimal network performance.

Provide 2nd line support and problem management:
Participate in on-call standby service to address network-related incidents and escalations.
Debug and analyze reported problems to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
Develop operational guidelines, procedures, and scripts for the integration, installation, and upgrade of network components.
Assist with the rollout of new ICT infrastructure projects.
Ensure adherence to ITIL processes and procedures. Operate in accordance with defined ITIL frameworks for service management.

Requirements:
Strong network administration skills, including experience with Cisco network devices/services (routers, switches, etc.), F5 Accelerators, Juniper & Palo Alto firewalls.
Minimum 1 technical certification: CCDP/CCNP, CCNA, CCDE/CCIE, CCAr, or relevant certifications in F5, Juniper, Palo Alto.
Basic knowledge of monitoring tools such as Cacti, Anomaly Detective, and Splunk (or similar).
ITILv3 certification(s).
Proficient in English with the ability to write technical documentation.
Ability to work effectively in an international/multi-cultural environment and contribute to a collaborative team.
Excellent communication skills and a customer-oriented approach.
Quick learning ability, organizational skills, versatility, and a results-oriented mindset.
Experience in supporting enterprise environments and adapting to fast-changing technologies.
