Senior System Developers

alaTEST is a fast-growing international start-up company. Our mission is to objectively inform consumers about product quality by collecting, analysing and publishing product tests and reviews on the web. We have in a short time established international partnerships with a number of leading internet portals (e.g. PriceRunner, Smarto.se, Shopping.com, Lycos) and are now looking to strengthen our technical team as we continue to improve our services. We are looking for two persons who will help to further develop our technical platform. The platform is the foundation for our web services and providing content to our partners. Both positions will work to add functionality to our sites, improve the overall process of gathering, structuring and presenting data on alaTEST.com and on our partner sites. One role will be more focused on the database and the other one more web oriented. Apart from that, the following requirements apply for both positions. - You should be motivated by developing creative solutions with new technology and should be comfortable in a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment. - You have a couple of years of experience of system development. We work mainly with various Open Source solutions, e.g. Apache, PHP and MySQL. Our servers run Linux. Through knowledge, commitment and creativity, you will help us maintain and further refine our technical platform. The work will include Java programming, MySQL, integration towards our partners and communication with our management team. We are looking for persons with documented experience of Java and database administration in MySQL. - You should have good knowledge of web techniques, Internet protocol and MySQL. XML and Linux experience is a bonus. - You should be a team player and used to taking own initiatives. We offer great opportunities to influence the work and your future role within the company.
