Service Designer

Arbetsbeskrivning

ARE YOU READY?

Are you passionate about imagining and influencing the future through design? Do you want to be in the forefront of the transportation industry - creating new products, services and digital solutions for our customers? Are you intrigued by the possibilities of automation and electromobility? And do you thrive in an environment where you are surrounded by designers from all corners of the world? If so, Volvo Group Design is the place to be.

We are now looking for skilled Service Designers at different levels of seniority to join our design team located in Lundby and Lindholmen, Gothenburg, Sweden.

This is us, your new colleagues.

Volvo Group Design is the design function for the Group’s brands and business areas. The team provides design to products, digital solutions and services from the three studios located in Gothenburg, Sweden, Lyon, France and Greensboro NC, US.

We offer you opportunities to work with all business areas under the Volvo brand: Volvo Trucks, Volvo Construction Equipment, Volvo Penta, Volvo Buses, Volvo Autonomous Solutions, Volvo Energy and Volvo Financial Services.

The User Experience team within Volvo Group Design is growing. We are more than 50 skilled Service Designers, UX and UI Designers and Front End Developers today, but need more colleagues to join us to deliver on the Volvo Group vision: to be the most desired and successful transport and infrastructure solution provider in the world!

What do we offer?

As a Service Designer within Volvo Group Design you work across business areas, technology streams and other functions within the Volvo Group, to translate business strategy and customer needs into viable and desirable commercial solutions. You lead or support scope setting and prioritization activities and strive to secure value through strategic design, human-centric ways of working and effective process and interaction facilitation.

Our Service Designers work across a wide range of areas, including: industry trends analysis, business models and value propositions, future concepts and roadmaps, business cases and outcome definitions, customer/user research and analysis, customer experience design and process facilitation. Visual communication and storytelling are also key to package and communicate findings, insights and data in a clear and impactful way.

We offer you an interesting role where you will collaborate within multi-disciplinary teams to innovate, design, prototype and build solutions.

At Volvo Group Design you will work with skilled and passionate colleagues in all areas of design to bring premium products and services to the market.

Who we believe you are.

We see that you have a strong business acumen and customer focus, and a keen interest in the transportation industry. Your curiosity drives you to explore differences in perspectives, thoughts and people, and you are willing to pursue a deep understanding and continuous learning.

Collaborating with others to meet shared objectives is something you enjoy. You are a team player, motivating and supporting others come naturally to you, but you are also able to work independently. You are structured, and feel comfortable with stakeholder management, organizational change management and change process facilitation.

Furthermore, you will of course have a good understanding of human-centered design and Service Design methodologies and the process from research to development. We believe you have knowledge of facilitation tools and methods, experience with planning, conducting and/or analyzing customer research and the ability to see patterns in complex information.

As you will be working in an international setting, it is important that you are fluent in English, both spoken and written.

Other important competencies for the position:
Degree related to service design and behavioral science discipline or innovation/business management, and between 2 to 10+ years of industry experience.
Good communication and presentation skills.

We also value visual communication and prototyping skills to create and communicate product-, service- and business design artefacts and strategies.
