. We are looking for a professional, positive and mutitalented employee with sailing experience and strong technical insight on sailyachts/boat. Our new employee will have his main office in Tromsø, however expeditions might lead you to really remote and cool areas like Finnmark region, Lofoten and Svalbard. The person we are hiring must easily adapt to the tourist industry and have basic knowledge on how to deliver high class customer service. Our companies' values are:

. Job description -- Technical coordinator and skipper
. Technical coordinator tasks:

. Responsible for planning and excecuting Boreal Yachting Service program for internal and external yachts
. Responsible for working with BY mainteinance plans and be supervisor for BY serviceprogram
. Responsible for safety equipment onboard BY yachts according to internal demands and demands from authorities
. Regularly maintenance of yachts, engines and equipment
. Responsible of ordering parts for yachts and equipment
. Responsible for inventory in workshop and retaining withdrawals as well as further reporting to invoicing.
. Responsible for utilizing and managing tasks that hired and own service personnel must perform on boats and equipment for operations.
. Participation in improving and enhancing Boreal Yachting's technical standard on internal and external yachts


. Skipper duties
. Responsible skipper on any of Boreal Yachting's yachts. Sailing area is Norwegian waters including Svalbard
. Monitor the safety and integrity of vessels, making sure the vessel is suitable and capable of making the planned voyages.
. Maintain vessels according to regular maintenance schedules and ad-hoc maintenance when required
. Monitor weather, tides and local conditions.
. Preparing and maintaining of supplies, such a fuel, food and water.
. Brief guests on the location of all the safety equipment, especially the location of lifejackets and how to use them.
. Maintain personal state of fitness and ability to safely operate the vessel in all conditions.

. It's the Skipper's Duty of Care to look out for the safety of the vessel, passengers and crew, as well as those around them. it's your responsibility to ensure the safety of those aboard, as well as making the voyage a positive experience for guest and crew on board


. Servicetasks

. During non-sailing periods, various jobs in the bases will be assigned, here mentioned:
. Yacht maintenance
. Check-in / check-out of crew/yachts including support of other skippers and crew on other yachts
. Preparing yachts before rental (water, fuel, gas, etc)
. Keep a well-organized and tidy workshop
. Participation in improving and enhancing Boreal Yachting's products


. Projects

. Boreal Yachting is running various projects to improve quality and efficiency. Project task may be assigned as required and according to capacity
