We believe you have a minimum 5 years of experience of developing businesses and delivering results within home furnishing and retail design solution development, and a minimum 2 years of experience in leading and influencing teams. You also have proven advanced training in retail design, interior design, art and design, planning or equivalent and experience from implementation of Retail Establishment Process in a multichannel customer journey.
You have knowledge in following areas:
• the Retail Establishment Process
• trends that influence home furnishing, retail design and communication to gain insight to a more appealing product presentation for customers in our retail environment
• customers' living situations in different areas around the world as well as their needs in everyday life at home
• methods for presenting the range and service range using store media, display techniques and store layout as commercial tools
• how to steer the customer to relevant products or services
• IKEA concept, brand objectives, values and vision
• Ingka Group strategies, priorities and strategic expansion planning process
• how to create and implement change initiatives and manage stakeholders in IKEA
• the IKEA multichannel shopping experience
You bring good leadership skills and you communicate verbally and visually in an inspirational way in the IKEA tone of voice. You have the ability to prioritise and make decisions with speed and simplicity, a creative mind-set that encourages creative ideas and perspectives that add value. You also have an ability to take a holistic view of a global organisation and identify business opportunities. You of course share and live the IKEA culture and values.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
In the role as Shop Design Leader you will be responsible to plan design retail spaces and home furnishing solutions for new customer meeting points and major rebuilds based on our most recent home furnishing and merchandising solutions.
You will:
• Design retail spaces and layouts solutions to become visually attractive and drive sales, based on the customer journeys of the new Customer Meeting Point CMP
• Support the planning teams in the central planning hub in the field of Shop Design, to contribute to CMPs that present the range in a vital, inspiring way fitting the needs of the many and that enable access to the whole range in a multichannel retail world of IKEA.
• Inspire the planning teams to develop and create inspiring presentation solutions that reflect a wide variety of styles and price levels and life at home activities with seasonal relevance connected to the commercial activities
• Support the planning teams in the use of global tools, proven solutions, best practices and when needed, adjust the global solutions to be locally relevant

• Ensure efficient Customer Meeting Points (CMPs) that present the range in a vital, inspiring way fitting the needs of the many and that enable access to the whole range in a multichannel retail world of IKEA
• Contribute to a large portfolio of projects, in the design of CMP solutions in order to strengthen the brand, secure an outstanding customer experience, grow sales and broaden the customer base
• Be at the forefront of new solutions and new technology in order to optimise customer experience and operational efficiency of CMPs
• Contribute to a convencient and seamless shopping experience and create an attractive atmosphere with a relevant commercial offer for the many
• Take lead in working across functions within Ingka Group and collaborate with other IKEA units
• Take lead in driving an open and sharing climate, being a role model of the IKEA values
• Lead positive change, and contribute to building a more unique, inclusive and accessible IKEA - guided by the People and Planet Positive commitments
This role is located in Malmö and will report to the Retail Solutions Planning Manager.

With the customer at the heart of everything we do, Group Expansion takes responsibility for strategic expansion planning enabling penetration of existing and new markets. We take the lead for business development of existing and new customer meeting points. We act on business needs and empower the markets to maximise accessibility, implement our retailing concepts and fully utilise our assets in the new world of IKEA – all at lowest cost, with economy of scale and sustained profitability.
