Swedish Committee for Afghanistan (SCA) - is a major Swedish NGO with 25 years of experience from opinion work in Sweden and from carrying out activities/projects in Afghanistan.In Sweden SCA works as a member driven association based on popular commitment and support, making effort to affect the public opinion by providing knowledgeable and reliable information about Afghanistan in order to increase sustainable cooperation and assistance in a spirit of solidarity.Project: Physical Therapy Institute (PTI) and Afghan Association for Physical Therapy (AAPT) The physiotherapy profession in Afghanistan is undergoing a rapid expansion, both in terms of training and within the health and medical sector.Physiotherapy is included in the Basic Package of Health Services (BPHS) of the national health system, with a subsequent increasing demand for physiotherapy services.Currently there is a great lack of qualified physiotherapy professionals in the country. Responsibilities * Support PTI teachers and the new teachers in teaching the new three-year curriculum and the one-year upgrading course.The teachers are teaching new subjects in a more comprehensive manner.Therefore, as they start teaching, it will be necessary to ensure that they use the new things that they have learned.* Support teachers for making a comprehensive syllabus for all subjects.The information from the different modules needs to be structured and sorted.Handouts need to be revised and new subject handouts need to be organized.* Support PTI and other new teachers in lesson planning, searching for materials, and giving feedback on how they teach.Provide support in how to search for and use new materials, such that courses undergo continual improvement.Make plans to structure the hours which each of the new teachers (working outside of PTI) have committed to teaching.* Continue to support the curriculum development work.* Support the continuing education program for physiotherapists.* Develop and revise the physiotherapy teacher's education curriculum (in liaison with the PTI teachers and Physiotherapy Task Force).* Contribute in making a sustainable long term plan for the future development of PTI with PTI management and IAM.This includes attending PTI Advisory Board meetings as a co-opted member.* Provide support to PTI's Project Manager in management and administrative issues and to promote collaboration with all stakeholders * Support and advise the AAPT president and Executive Committee in following through with their mandate as set by the AAPT General Assembly * Participate in arranging workshops, seminars and trainings through AAPT for increased capacity of Afghan physiotherapists Entry Requirements * Diploma of an internationally recognised physiotherapy program. *
