We are facing new challenges due to the strong market demand to further develop the GSM/EDGE system.The modernization means introduction of IP transmission, at least doubled CS capacity, higher data rates (EDGE Evolution), lower latency and architectural improvements.There is also a clear industry trend, both from vendor and operator side, towards co-existence and architectural convergence of the different RAN technologies.As the dominating standard GSM plays a key role in this convergence, which gives us a number of technological challenges and opportunities over the coming years. The BSC Design department is responsible for SW development of the BSC node in the GSM system.Our responsibilities are product development and maintenance of radio network products. The CS Product Management unit at BSC Design is responsible for block group CH, CPR and RCQS within the RCS subsystem.This responsibility includes technical coordination, development and maintaining high quality and good system architecture.As a designer you work in one of the teams within the BSC Design projects.The work tasks include: ?System and function design ?Design implementation ?Code review and inspection ?Basic test ?Technical writing Qualification We are looking for people that have software development experience from C/C++ Important skills are creativity, flexibility, accuracy and perseverance. As a person you have the ability to work in teams but also ability to take initiative and work independently when needed.
