Who is your future team?
The Axis Audio Manager Edge firmware team in the New Business organization give the customers the ability to schedule and play music, announcements, call outs, and much more across multiple Axis audio devices. The system is at the core of our audio offering and is included in every device we sell.

The team consists of developers with broad and mixed competences, and they all contribute to a welcoming and open environment and strong team spirit. The team works very self-driven and autonomous to meet the goals set by the strategic roadmap and backlog. We value teamwork, continuous improvements, and shared responsibility. We pride ourselves in great deliveries.

Our code is mainly written in C, but we also use other languages such as Python and Rust. Our deliveries cover built in services for configuration, scheduling and cross-device communication using REST, JSON, MQTT and many other technologies. We strive to use an open platform and open standards which fits well with Axis company core value Always Open.

We also remember to relax. We make sure to find time for Axis much appreciated morning "fika", a round of table tennis, crossword puzzles and after work activities. Did I mention that you will be able to spend every second Friday on your own innovative ideas?

What you'll do here as Software engineer?
As software engineer, you will be part of a skilled agile team and you will play an important role in delivering new and innovative features and products.

What you can expect to spend your days on:

* Analyzing, designing, implementing, and reviewing features for our system and upcoming products.
* Performance improvements and the inevitable bug fixing.
* Threat Modeling and documentation (Don't worry, only what's needed.)
* Sharing knowledge within, and outside of, your team and colleagues.
* Collaboration and innovation across Audio as well as the rest of Axis.

Who are we looking for/Who are you?
Whether you are an experienced software engineer or a recent graduate we hope you are curious, interested in technical challenges and solving them in a team-focused environment. We are looking for someone who has an interest in understanding both the big picture as well as the details of your deliveries. You are comfortable with taking initiative and take responsibility for, and pride in, your accomplishments. We hope that you are open to learn, but also willing to share your knowledge and ideas with us.

We'd love to hear that you have/are:

* A bachelor's or master's degree with focus on software engineering
* Comfortable with development in C

It's a bonus if you have any combination of these skills

* Familiarity with systems running in Linux environments
* Backend services
* Working knowledge of Python or Rust
* REST APIs
* Agile development
* Experience of Git/Gerrit, Yocto/BitBake and Jenkins
* Understanding of network programming and related protocols such as MQTT, RTP, HTTP and WebSockets
