Who we are

SVT is the national public service broadcasting company. We aim to create content that engages, entertains and enriches in the service of the public. We are everywhere: online, on air – on all digital platforms. The Distribution Team develop and maintain the online video distribution for SVT. Currently we have a multi-vendor setup with commercial CDNs in a mix with our in-house developed CDN. Our viewers mean everything to us, and we strive to make the experience of watching content online as smooth as possible. In total, SVT has more than 200 software developers, with a great blend of people. We are from many different countries with different personalities and interests. We can offer you a workplace where learning is in focus, where we take great care of each other. For example, we have bi-weekly hack days where you can work on any project you’d like, alone or with your team. Every month, millions of people choose to use SVTs services online when they want to see or read something they are curious about – or just stay up-to-date with the latest news.



The Details

You will be a part of one of the coolest team at SVT, the Online Distribution Team who are responsible for the distribution of  video to all apps and websites within SVT.  You will here develop and maintain the whole distribution stack (CDN) that incorporates everything from hardware, network infrastructure to load balancing and highly available API services. We don’t expect you know all these things, but to be eager to learn more about large scale video distribution online and everything it involves.

We are searching for a person who wants to be a part of a small team consisting of senior developers.  In order to thrive we believe that you value discussions and learning new technologies. As a person and developer you are curious and open-minded and thrive in fast-pace environments. You look at problems and new techniques as an opportunity to learn and further develop your skills. As a backend developer, you are comfortable with Java and/or C. It's also highly merited to know or have knowledge about Linux, micro-services, and networking.
