Software Development Engineer, Mobile

JOB TITLE Software Development Engineer, Mobile DURATION: Permanent LOCATION Finland, JOB PURPOSE: Working within the recently appointed global Mobile Team, you will be responsible for the client product for SymbianOS development, the technical relationships for some of our major clients and any 3rd party development across EMEA. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES -------------------------------------- o Responsible for software design, documentation, coding, debugging, and integration of embedded content security solutions for clients and server components. o Propose, design and implement next generation security technologies based on specifications and customer requirements. o Assist in planning, scheduling, and assigning development projects. o Analyze customer requirements, propose and design, product features, and create functional specifications. o Identify areas of improvements and assist in refining standards and procedures. o Performs any other related work as assigned. EXPERIENCE DESIRED: --------------------------------------- o 3+ years of Symbian, OSE and/or embedded Linux mobile application/software development experience. o Proficiency in x86 or ARM assembly. o Proficiency in Perl, HTTP and Web application development. PERSON SPECIFICATION --------------------------------------------------- o 5+ years of development experience with Linux and/or other POSIX style (UNIX) OS. o 5+ years of application development experience using network protocols, including TCP/IP, UDP, Unix IPC. o Expert proficiency with C/C++. o Through knowledge and experience with embedded and real-time OS structure, programming techniques, and current offerings. o Demonstrated knowledge of software engineering practices. o Creative and analytical problem solving skills. o Ability to make sound independent decisions. o Good group interaction skills with good written and oral communication skills. o Fluent in English language & must be able to travel internationally.
