We are seeking a skilled Mainframe Software Engineer to develop, maintain, and enhance critical business applications running on IBM z/OS systems. You will play a key role in developing, enhancing, and maintaining Accounting Nordic mainframe accounting platform. The accounting solution is the cornerstone of our IT landscape, where huge numbers of transactions meet to be prepared for analysis and reporting. Well controlled, automated, high volume data flows are needed to support Swedbank’s future business development.

In Swedbank you have the opportunity to:
Design, develop, test and maintain COBOL and JCL programs


Troubleshoot production issues and optimize batch workflows


Managing batch jobs and online transactions


Debugging and optimizing legacy systems


Supporting system integrations and modernization initiatives


Collaborate with cross-functional teams for system changes


Document the solution



What is needed in this role:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field


3+ years of experience in mainframe development


Experience with IBM z/OS in a batch processing environment


Strong knowledge of COBOL, DB2, DL1, JCL and IMS.


Understanding of mainframe batch processing and tools like Change man, OPC, FAN etc.


Familiarity with incident handling, root cause analysis, and production support


Strong analytical and problem-solving skills


Excellent communication and teamwork abilities


Preferred / Added Advantage:


Basic knowledge on .NET, Visual basic skills along with mainframe integration are an advantage


A structured approach to troubleshooting and documentation


Able to work closely with application teams, operations, and infrastructure specialists


Experience in banking or financial services domain
