Reference number: 424 JOB DESCRIPTION The Core Technologies - Systems competence group within Axis focus on identifying and implementing technologies aimed at increasing the value of the network for surveillance systems.This includes technologies for communication management and unit discovery as well as leveraging system functionality by developing and taking advantage of synergies across the network.As Software Engineer within the Systems competence group you will contribute to the above described work by doing embedded programming and software design.You will also break down of System Architecture to find implications on individual parts forming a system.[ YOUR QUALIFICATIONS The right candidate has a university education and extensive work experience within design and control of distributed systems is required.Excellent Linux and C-programming skills is required as well as experience of at least one additional area(s) within network architecture, system design, TCP/IP infrastructure, network protocols, ease-of-use, web services, distributed audio/video applications, API design or network security.Experience with embedded device driver development and/or application level Linux development is highly desired.Very good communication skills in Swedish and English (oral and writing) are required.Furthermore we believe you are a team player, contributing on both a technical and social level.Creativity, persistence and a strong drive are other central characteristics that we value when recruiting for this position.You must be able to work well within a team and be able to explain your work to others and as well as having the ability to always put your work in relation to the high-level system context.[ THE CORE TECHNOLOGIES TEAM The Core Technologies - Analytics & Systems team are responsible for the long-term technology agenda within the strategic areas Analytics and Systems.We perform technology roadmapping; execute the roadmap by developing technologies and assist toward platform integration of technologies.We also act as a competence centre within Axis with regard to the core competence areas.In addition to this we define test methods and standards to be used by Axis as a whole.[ The Systems competence group within Core Technologies - Analytics & Systems focus their work on identifying and implementing technologies aimed at increasing the value of the network for surveillance applications.This includes media technologies, unit discovery, cloud computing and communication as well as leveraging system functionality by developing and exploiting synergies across the network.[ WHAT CAN AXIS DO FOR YOU?By joining the world market leader in IP cameras you will be in a unique position to influence the role of network technologies and for surveillance system applications.You will also be involved in Axis strategic technology planning process and contribute to core technologies used in future Axis offerings.You will thus play an important role in ensuring continual market leadership for Axis in the years to come.[ READY TO ACT Axis is a company realizing the benefits of a diverse workforce.We know that diversity in groups creates a better working environment and promotes creativity, something that is fundamental for our success.
