Sound technician at Norrdans

Norrdans produces and presents contemporary dance and choreography for the citizens of northern Sweden. The ensemble consists of nine dancers from around the world, as well as a team of technicians and administrative staff. About 25 people from 11 different countries work at Norrdans.
We dance everywhere; on stages in Haparanda and Rome, in schools in Härnösand and Umeå, on streets and squares in the rest of the world.

Now we are looking for a Sound technician to become part of our amazing technical team!


Job description
The sound technician has an overall responsibility for the sound technical work at Norrdans in connection with both production and touring. The person is part of the technical production team at Norrdans, which in addition consists of a stage master, a lighting technician, and a technical assistant. The tasks include, among other things, managing sound on tour, assist our contracted sound designers and composers during production, documentation, maintenance of our sound equipment. The job also includes other general stage technical tasks, since we´re a small team of techs on tour.


Who are you?
You are an independent initiator who is responsive and service-minded, creative, and efficient. Your social skills are very important since we´re a tight team on tour. You have a degree in sound technique or equivalent work experience as a sound technician. We assume that you have previous experience from touring activities in dance, theatre or other performing arts.
You have good knowledge in Qlab 5, audio over ethernet protocol (Dante), basic skills in network technique and you’re used to working with digital mixing desks. You should at least have a drivers B license. Skills in rigging and stage work is meritorious.
