At IKEA of Sweden we develop and make the IKEA range available to stores and customers all over the world. Within the responsibilities of IKEA of Sweden lies the development, sourcing, supply and steering of a unique, competitive and efficient range.

The assignment
In the Sourcing Developer role you act as a bridge between the home furnishing businesses and the category in setting up the optimal sourcing conditions. From that position you lead and secure that both production and customer perspective is considered in all our products. You are responsible for sourcing activities in the product development process evaluating material and choices of technique related to cost, capacity, quality and sustainability and ensuring that product development is in-line with supplier production capabilities.

Your main responsibilities in this role will be to:
-Work together with Business stakeholders in the Business Area and with Categories to find the best business set up with lowest total cost as goal
-Evaluate material and technique choices related to cost, capacity, quality and sustainability securing total Supply chain perspective for our products
-Lead sourcing activities in the product development process securing the development on the factory floor
-Actively monitor performance of News and Running range and acting upon deviations
-Communicate purchase needs and priorities to our Categories and plan capacities
-Secure that each product has a correct landed price to Retail at lowest total cost

Is this your next challenge?
To be a successful Sourcing Developer we would like for you to have a couple of years of experience within purchasing. You have a university degree in technology, business administration or corresponding knowledge. You have experience of negotiations, knowledge of the global market, supply chain and basic finance as well as in material. You have leadership skills and it is an advantage if you have experience from working as Project Leader for various projects. Prior experience in a Textile related environment will be useful, but it is not mandatory for the role.

As a person you are highly motivated, decisive, analytical and have a strong business drive. You act based on high moral and ethical principles. Furthermore, you have an overall view with both operational and tactical thinking and you understand the importance of driving the business through others. Since IKEA of Sweden is a truly international environment, you need to be fluent in English, both spoken and written.
