ABB Robotics in Västerås develops, manufactures, and markets advanced robots and associated control systems, software, arc welding products, motion systems and motor packs that support our global customer base improve productivity, product quality, and worker safety. More than 90 per cent of production is exported to customers in sectors such as vehicle manufacturing, food and beverage, and general industry. Welding, machine maintenance, material handling, cutting, packaging and mounting are common applications. Sales of robots and robot systems are conducted through local ABB companies as well as freestanding system integrators and OEMs. There are some 250,000 ABB robots in service worldwide.

Tasks
Are you a proactive team player with a proven track record in supply chain management? ABB?s Robotics unit in Västerås, part of the Group?s Discrete Automation and Motion division, currently has a vacancy for a Senior Sourcing Engineer to join its Sourcing and Projects Team, part of ABB?s Robotics Supply Unit Supply Chain Management (SCM) organization.

As a senior sourcing engineer, you will play an active role within ABB?s SCM organization. Your primary responsibility will be to develop, plan, and implement SCM strategies that minimize costs, and optimize quality, delivery, and reliability of suppliers and supplied products for assigned categories.

Key duties will therefore include sourcing strategy execution in close co-ordination with relevant category teams, identifying potential suppliers, monitoring and managing supplier performance, running and co-ordinating RFQs and bid analysis, and evaluating supplier tenders to ensure optimized business performance.

You will also be expected to provide business insight to respective category teams, (for example local business requirements), and define and recommend cross-functional implementation planning. Other tasks will include the design and implementation of cost-out activities, and/or processes to achieve financial targets.

Requirements
As a team-orientated self-starter, you are a skilled communicator keen to work with others, and you have a positive, proactive approach to business. You are target-driven, open-minded, and have a creative mindset. Evidence of successful problem solving in a supply chain context is welcome.

You are educated to university level, and a qualification in engineering is advantageous. Professional experience in engineering is also an advantage, and a minimum of five years? experience in sourcing, purchasing or other supply chain management role is required.

Fluency in written and spoken English is essential, and fluency in Swedish will strongly support your application.
