Commercial Operations within purchasing was established to accelerate the integration of purchasing activities within Scania´s worldwide sales and service organisation.
The tasks ahead of us is ambitious with tough goals of lead time reductions, savings and value creation to be achieved by bundling volumes, standardization between different countries, synergise between Scania product and supplier product and at the same time improving service to our customers. We are now looking for a Sourcing Manager to join our Central team in Södertälje.

What we do: We secure the Scania brand by upholding mandatory requirements within Technology, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Sustainability areas in cooperation with our suppliers. We offer support to cross functional interfaces and our global CO network, on site or remotely, by building, securing and coordinating the relationship with our appointed central suppliers and partners.
The work involves setting segment strategies, negotiations, bundling volumes, standardizing between different countries, finding synergies between Scania products and supplier products, and at the same time improving service to our customers. In short, we are responsible for the global suppliers utilized by our Business Units and workshops throughout the Scania world, our central supply of aftermarket parts, and special orders in our chassis production.
Who we are: We are a section within Global Purchasing working with Truck Superstructure & Customization. We are running a variety of segments with different challenges, but always helping each other to reach the overall results together. Your Role:
Working as a strategic purchaser you will be responsible for the development and implementation of purchasing activities throughout Scania and our Business Units. Truck Superstructure, the interesting procurement area that you will be working with has large potential in many aspects and high attention of progress. To clarify – Truck Superstructure is the body build onto the chassis to give the truck its function e.g. a box, a tipper, a crane or a refuse collector.
You will set your sourcing activities together with your internal customers, by analyzing data and having a close dialogue with purchasers in the Commercial Operations network in order to understand what is needed and where most leverage can be found.
You will negotiate commercial agreements and prices, run tenders and also be responsible for supplier quality, capacity issues, service and cost development. You will also be part of challenging and developing the way Scania works with the superstructure in the supply chain.
In this job, you will work cross-functionally with for example quality and cost engineers, technical experts and representatives from the sales organization.
Your profile
We are looking for a team player who has a high level of self-motivation. You take initiative, start activities and achieve results. You also like to be service-minded and enjoy varied tasks. Another important quality for achieving success in this role is the ability to develop and maintain a broad network of contacts, why you need to be fluent in both written and spoken English. Swedish is meritorious since several large suppliers are located in Sweden.
You have a few years of purchasing experience. A university degree is also an advantage. The work requires traveling to some extent.
