The Spinal Surgery Clinic of Strängnäs (Ryggkirurgiska kliniken) specializes in microsurgical treatments of degenerative spinal diseases along the whole vertebral column. The most common diagnoses include disc hernias, spinal stenosis, segmental pain, spondylolysis/spondylolisthesis and sacroiliac pain among others. The clinic is the second largest spinal operating center in Sweden and around 800 surgical procedures are performed annually. The clinic has 5 full time surgeons who work in a very friendly and collegial environment. The number of patients admitted to the Ryggkirurgiska kliniken increases year-by-year and that is why new colleagues are needed. The clinic is a participant of the world-renowned Swedish Spine Register. It is situated on a hill surrounded by an impressive and colourful landscape near a lake and is close to the picturesque town of Strängnäs. The town is located approximately an hour's drive from Stockholm, the capital, which can easily be reached by train in about 45 minutes. Skavsta airport, used by Ryanair, can be reached in less than an hour from the clinic.

Work task
Daily own surgical operations and consultation office activity Mondays thru Fridays. Radiological and clinical discussions. Pain analysis. Scientific investigation. On Call-duty on a weekly basis.

Desirable requirements:
Experience with microsurgery or interest in learning microsurgical techniques. Scientific investigation and publications.

The Clinic provides accommodation initially as well as Swedish language lessons.
