SSAB - Procurement Sustainability Manager

SSAB - Procurement Sustainability Manager

Arbetsbeskrivning

SSAB is undertaking a strategic roadmap to revolutionize iron- and steelmaking, and to be the world’s first steel company to deliver iron ore-based fossil-free steel to the market in 2026. We are looking for a highly motivated person to join us in this journey as Procurement sustainability manager in group procurement. Location is Raahe, Luleå, Oxelösund, Borlänge, Hämeenlinna, Stockholm or Helsinki, with remote work opportunities.
About the job
Your mission is to lead and coordinate SSAB sustainability and compliance matters within SSAB’s procurement operations. You will do this by setting the direction for the continued development while also supporting the implementation and track progress. The work will be done across the entire SSAB group and you will be coaching and training the team responsible for the activities related to their business. You will also manage relations with both internal and external stakeholders, such as our suppliers, in sustainability related questions.
You will continuously develop the processes and systems needed to deliver on the sustainability targets and ensure that our supplier base embrace our Supplier Code Of Conduct. This relates to the suppliers environment, health and safety, human rights and anti-corruption, but the work will for instance also be focused on reduction of CO2 emissions in the supply chain as well as other areas.
The role will also include a number of day to day tasks ranging from completion of questionnaires from SSAB customers to support with sustainability related data as well as working closely with the Ethics and Compliance function. This role will also gather and follow up data for the annual report. You will have a leading role in audits of our suppliers.
You will have a key role in SSAB Global procurement team and have a wide contact network within the company. You will report to the Director of the Global Procurement team.
Your qualifications
You have several years of experience from working with sustainability, preferably in a procurement organization. As a person, you are a team player with integrity and great social skills, which together with your competence make you a great colleague to work with. Through your solid experience, you have an independent, method driven and results-orientated way of working.
As Procurement sustainability manager, you will not have a team formally reporting to you. Nevertheless strong leadership skills are needed in order to take SSAB’s sustainability work in procurement to the next level. We are looking for someone who can act as a role model to create involvement and engagement, and your skills in communication will be important.
In addition to working strategically, you need to be a pragmatic doer who thrives in helping hands-on to get things done. Your analytical skills will be a key competence in succeeding in this position and you do not mind deep diving into numbers to get a full understanding. You see the variation as one of the benefits of the role!
You are used to working in an international environment with different kinds of stakeholders and travelling is not a hinder for you.
We expect you to have a Master's or Bachelor’s degree in economics or technology. You have very good written and spoken English skills and have professional skills in Excel and PowerPoint.
Our offer
We offer the right candidate an important and challenging position in an international environment with great opportunities to influence SSAB´s journey towards a more sustainable world.
