Strategic and Project Purchaser

ValueOne is looking for an experienced purchasing professional for a six month consultant assignment as Strategic and Project Purchaser for our customer in the marine industry in Gothenburg. The assignment must be filled as soon as possible.

The role  

The assignment as Strategic and Project Purchaser means that you will be responsible for all supplier deliverables within your designated segment scope. You will work in an international environment, close to the project management/engineering team, to assure technical solutions, cost- and quality improvements and deliveries. Part of the role will be strategic where you will be responsible to developing Segment Strategies, and actively work with Souring Plans and the Development of the supplier base. Within the project buyer scope, you will be involved in several customer projects.   

Main tasks:

Negotiate prices, Terms of Conditions, and Total Delivery solutions
Contract Management
Be involved in the Product/Project Development process
Manage and follow-up purchase orders 
Conduct supplier evaluation and manage the Recommendation/Selection process
Develop and implement segment strategies as well as improvement of purchasing processes
Work proactively to develop and quality assure suppliers
Travel to visit suppliers and business partners when needed


Work full time at the office is preferred but for the right person there is a possibility for remote work 2-3 days a week.

Experience and competencies  

The ideal person for this assignment should have a university degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, Economics or related field. 5-10 years’ experience from similar position is required as well as knowledge of driving commodity/segment strategy work. In addition, you are experienced in delivering sourcing plans and can demonstrate proven good results within Quality-, Delivery-, and Cost improvements. The role demands fluency in English, verbal and written and good computer skills in MS Office and SAP B1.

It is advantageous with experience from purchasing hydraulic and electrical components and systems and working in large time-critical projects. Previous work experience within maritime or other applicable industry is desired but not a requirement.
