Strategic Purchaser

ValueOne is looking for a Strategic Purchaser for a consultant assignment at a manufacturing company. The position is based in Uppsala or Västerås.

The role  

As Strategic Purchaser you will be responsible for developing a strategic sourcing strategy and make sure that goals will be met with regards to cost, quality and delivery. You will negotiate agreements and work with evaluation and development of suppliers.

Main tasks:

Plan, manage and coordinate activities related to the sourcing processes
Manage and expand the supplier base, including supplier evaluations, as well as supplier consolidation
Prepare and conduct supplier negotiations according to best-practices
Support internal stakeholders in the procurement process to ensure cost efficiency and compliant purchases
Determine product- and technology roadmaps
Material procurement for prototypes and pre-series production

Experience and competencies  

The person we are looking for must have a minimum of three years’ experience in supply chain or logistics management. We also expect you to have a bachelor´s degree in Business administration, Supply Chain Management or equal and a background from the manufacturing industry. It is meritorious to have experience from the electronics and/or mechanical industry. We expect you to be fluent in Swedish and English, both written and spoken.

The role demands a high level of communication and relationship building skills. To thrive in the role, you need to be a team player who is proficient at motivating other people. Additionally, you are a quick learner and have no problem handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
