Structural Analysis Engineer

GVA Consultants AB is a world leading design office in the oil and gas industry, specialized in floating offshore installations.GVA Consultants AB assists oil companies, rig owners and yards with engineering in all project phases from concept through installation offshore. Position The Structural Analysis Engineer will be a part of the Structural Engineering department and will be reporting to the Group Manager.The primary responsibilities will include: Structural calculations using FE modeling, analysis and evaluation.Perform stress evaluation, buckling and fatigue analyses Perform analyses of environmental loads, such as wind and wave loads.Ensure that applicable class rules, regulations and standards are fully considered throughout the design process.Ensure that the calculation results are implemented in the drafting. Profile The ideal candidate has qualifications and competencies which primarily include: Holder of a M. Sc.degree in Naval Architecture, Mechanical or Civil Engineering At least one year of experience of steel design.Experience from the ship- or offshore industry.Experience of FE calculations and from different software within FE calculations .Seeks opportunities to learn develop and practice skills in a real work situation.Understands how to align work assignments and tasks with KBR policy and processes.Sets own challenging but realistic objectives and goals .Communicates fluently in both English and Swedish.
