Proffice is one of the fastest growing companies within the Nordic region, according to Growth Plus.Proffice provides flexible staffing solutions such as temporary staffing, recruiting, outsourcing and career and development programs.Proffice operates in Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden.Proffice AB is listed on the Stockholmsbörsen (Stockholm Stock Exchange).Proffice is now looking for a PhD with hands on experience of molecular biology support on protein production for structural analysis.This temporary position is in the Molecular Biology team at the Structural Chemistry Laboratory at AstraZeneca R&D Mölndal, Sweden.The Structural Chemistry Laboratory, Mölndal is a centre of excellence supporting the AstraZeneca discovery organizations in Sweden, UK and US.The laboratory has around 35 scientists engaged in experimental research and the core disciplines are protein engineering, NMR spectroscopy and protein crystallography.The lab is excellently equipped with state of the art equipment.Structural Molecular Biologist A position is open for a senior scientist to join the Structural Molecular Biology team in the Protein Engineering section.The work involves the generation of expression constructs for human target proteins and the screening for successful expression of the target in various expression systems to support X-ray and NMR.For the position it is required that the candidate has excellent experience in molecular biology and a thorough understanding of its use in structural biology.Hands-on experience with E coli, and Pichia pastoris and/or insect cells as production hosts for human proteins is essential.It is expected that the successful candidate has experience in initial purification steps of the expressed proteins.You should have a PhD-degree and preferentially several years of postdoctoral and/or working experience the area of molecular biology support for structural biology.For this position it is required that you can work effectively both in a team and on your own initiative.As you will be required to liaise with colleagues across scientific disciplines, you will also need excellent interpersonal skills - linked with the ability to think inventively and analytically.
