Studio Engineer

Objectives:

Together with all designers pursuit the work with design related geometry to facilitate the match between the designer's wishes and the technical feasibility.

Key operational responsibilities:

Creativity:
-Provide input and design solutions that contribute to the success of Electrolux.
-Provide technical prerequisites for Designers and give feedback on design.
-Compile the appropriate hard point models.
-Interface between Industrial Design, Engineering and Prototyping
-Work independently with analyses, technical solutions and give priorities,
-Support all studio work technically and geometrically in order to get correct technical and geometrical status on the virtual/physical models.
-Ensure the development of models according to the right system/geometrical solutions.
-Initiate and/or realize Primary Development technologies and Design Strategies that results in better possibilities according to good design.
-Working with environmental awareness.

-Strive for best-in class design solutions to meet or exceed the needs of internal and external customers.

Problem Solving:
-Identify and participate in solving Product Design?s conflicts between technique requirements and attributes.
-Meet internal and external deadlines according to project planning.
-Ensure constant high quality of the design output.

Reporting: To the Design Manager

Skills and Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:
-University degree in engineering
-2-5 years of work experience as studio engineer or in product development/engineering areas.

Technical Skills:
-Developed computer design skills in CATIA or other engineering softwares
-Aptitude for engineering, tooling and market inputs.
-Knowledge of the product development process.

Personal Skills
-Understanding the importance of good design and brand values, and their impact on the business.
-Strong communication and presentation skills to present ideas and goals effectively.
-Strong negotiation and persuasion skills with sense for corporate politics
-Ability to work in multi-functional international teams.
-Pro-active work attitude and ability to organize personal work to meet deadlines.

Languages
-Fluency in English. Other European languages are a benefit.
