As Sub-Engineering project Manager at the commercial/passenger vehicle business unit of Stoneridge Electronics, you will ensure Sub-Engineering project Manager part of engineering process implementation of product development attributes in SW/HW architecture, software, hardware, etc., and coordinate the engineering groups of various customer projects and broad range of competencies in the right direction and according to relevant standards and technical development of the Stoneridge Electronics products.

A central product in this business unit is MirrorEye®, the innovative camera-based replacement for the traditional rearview mirrors on trucks. The system includes new intelligent functions in vehicle applications, e.g., object detection. You are part of the development of these innovations in automotive industry.

Your Daily Routine / Principal Responsibilities:


• Supporting projects System Design - managing the scope, budget and schedule while ensuring quality requirements are structured.
• Be ready to be proactive and apply your project management and analytical skills.
• Interface with other departments in the organization, representing your System Design team in project and technical meetings and discussions, also representing System Design in customer meetings.
• Participate in technical design reviews and in technical problem solving.
• Responsible for the technical coordination of System Design deliveries as well as managing the risks and identifying opportunities to reduce time and cost while ensuring quality requirements are structured.
• When you feel comfortable in the role you get the opportunity to manage complex projects on your own. In other words, your ambition is the foundation for your development opportunities!
• Knows how to translate customer requirements received into technical specifications and can determine what is and isn't possible in practice. Consults internally and externally to connect working methods, basic assumptions, and documentation.
• Provides internal advice on the feasibility of projects for customer requirements received and standards/legislation based on commercial considerations.
• Coordinates and ensures compliance with the applicable laws and regulations and customer requirements.
• Promptly flags any problems relating to Functional Safety and promptly intervenes where necessary.

Qualifications & Knowledge:


• Master or Bachelor in electronics, automotive electronics, computer science or equivalent
• Experience in automotive systems, software, or electronics.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in Project lead
• A Minimum of 10 years in Automotive system designing
• Knowledge of, Automotive SPICE, ISO26262.
• Knowledge of Functional Safety standards in various markets.
• Experience with implementing and carrying out activities in the field of Automotive system design & Functional Safety design.
• Knowledge and experience in automotive system development (OEM or Tier 1): preparing system and component specifications.
• Knowledge and experience with automotive core tools (APQP).
• Knowledge of testing and certification & certification processes
