Who are we?
Team of Teams Driving Dynamics & Noise & Vibration Centre is a department within Vehicle Engineering. The “Braking Attribute” team is actively participating in the development and verification of the vehicle. We are responsible for analysis, verification and validation of Attribute, functions, and systems regarding braking such as Brake Performance and Brake Noise Vibration Harshness (NVH). In addition, the team is also responsible for the requirements and method development of Braking Attribute. Using progressive technology and engineering, we are responsible during all stages of the product development process; ranging from the research phase through concept phase, industrialization and post production quality support.

Background
University student, with background in structural dynamics (preferably a master student). Some basic knowledge on FRFs (frequency response functions) is necessary.
Preferably, a student in acoustics or in applied mechanics with deep knowledge on structural dynamics.
It is meritorious if the student have had any experience in using measurements systems to measure FRFs, or has taken any course involving FRF measurements.

What you will do
Get FRF measurements of different brake systems to check the spread in between them, with especial focus on the brake disc: obtain and identify out-of-plane, in-plane compressional and in-plane shear modes and relate them to the different instabilities that have been identified in the vehicle resulting in brake squeal.

Do you fit the profile?
We are looking for a person that is Studying M.Sc. in something related with structural dynamics, preferably a master student in acoustics, applied mechanics or something similar. We believe that you have experience using measurement systems intended for NVH measurements, preferably someone that has measured frequency response functions in real systems.

We are looking for somebody with initiative that will come up with new ideas while carrying the measurements and investigation on brake systems, but at the same time somebody meticulous that will conduct the measurements carefully and accurately.

As most of our communication will be carried out in English, we see that you need strong English language skills both spoken and written.
