Supplier Development Engineer for metal commodity

Supplier Development is part of Stoneridge Electronics Operations Organization.

You will work closely with the Commodity manager, Strategic Sourcing, Procurement Product Line manager, D&D, Logistics and Quality Engineering. Externally your main contact is the supplier base but could also be customers for specific supplier quality-related topics. The role will require travel to the worldwide supplier base. You will report to Supplier Development Regional Lead Europe.

Responsibilities

Supplier Selection: Plan and perform supplier audits to qualify new suppliers.

Development Projects: Lead supplier APQP, PPAP, supplier safe launch to ensure flawless supplier launches. Give input to sourcing decisions and development projects regarding supplier performance and supplier processes. Handle supplier material quality problems in the project phase. Perform product audits at suppliers at start of production.

Supplier Quality Management: Manage supplier improvement programs, Supplier performance monitoring and improvements, 8D review, follow up and closure, improvements through PDCA model, manage inspection plans for incoming inspection.

Requirements for candidate

You have well established knowledge of quality processes and tools as well as problem solving skill and/or experience.

It is good if you have experience in supplier quality management, in auditing and/or managing projects. Other requirements are good communication skills in English (both verbal and written), knowledge of Business systems and good computer skills (MS Office).

On the personal level, you are open-minded, communicative, respectful, flexible, proactive, supportive, team player and can handle stress.
