Supplier Quality Engineer

Project assignment (12-24 months) The Supplier Quality Department (SQD), belonging to Volvo 3P Purchasing, contributes to the Volvo AB by driving the supplier base towards the best automotive quality standard. The department is responsible to continuously improve the supplier base and the quality of purchased parts. The three main customers for the Supplier Quality Department in Europe are Volvo Trucks, Renault Trucks and Volvo Bus. Job description: The Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) contributes by monitoring the quality of the development and the industrialization of new product at the Volvo 3P suppliers. The SQE is responsible to secure that the suppliers are delivering according to projects time plan. He / She shall secure that the supplier can produce the parts according the specification with the correct and sustainable quality level. In case of supplier caused problem during the development stages, the SQE is entitled to demand improvement plan to secure a successful implementation. The Supplier Quality Engineer contributes and support in the supplier selection He / She are in charge to communicate the quality targets and quality requirements to the suppliers and make sure of its respect. He / She are responsible to carry out the Quality Assurance activities on sight at the supplier. He / She has the responsibility to manage and challenge the Supplier Total Quality performance For parts in production, he / she are responsible to steer supplier improvement and request corrective actions. The job needs frequent travels (up to 4 per month) and car driving licence. Volvo 3P is currently in an intensive period with several important and extensive projects ongoing. Due the increases workload faced the Supplier Quality Department, we are now recruiting several Supplier Quality Engineers to support the current teams during this project peak (12-24 months). There is several different profiles needed supporting all the four different commodities within Volvo 3P: Chassis Vehicle Dynamics Cab Electrical, Electronics and Software (CMMI, SPICE) Qualifications: Master of Science Engineering degree 3 years experience in a quality position in industry Fluent in English Experience working with APQP/PPAP Multicultural team player Good communication and negotiation skills Good analytic skill and logical way of thinking Committed to Customer satisfaction Self driven Location: Gothenburg or Lyon, Sweden/France Starting date: ASAP
