Akzo Nobel Functional Chemicals AB, headquartered in Stenungsund, manufactures ethylene oxide, ethanolamines and ethylene amines. In Leverkusen, Germany, we also produce higher ethylene amines. Akzo Nobel recently announced plans to start production of ethylene amines in a new plant in China. We market and deliver our products to customers throughout the world. Increased globalization of our business leads to additional complexity in dealing with the flow of products as well as logistics management. Customers requiring quicker deliveries and shorter leadtimes, our own strive towards lower logistics costs and error-free deliveries as well as Responsible Care - complying with regulations and the authorities' demands for more and more environmentally friendly transports, are placing ever increasing demands on our supply chain.

Arbetsuppgifter:
As supply chain manager you will have global responsibility for Ethylene Amines' product deliveries from our two plants - one in Stenungsund and one in Leverkusen, Germany. You will also have overall global responsibility for inbound as well as outbound logistics, and for the optimization of logistics costs. Other key responsibilities are to ensure availability of end products in support of the commercial forecasts, meaning regular contacts with Production Planning in close consultation with Marketing, Manufacturing, Loading and Customer Service, as well as global inventory management. In addition, you will also be responsible for the "ad hoc" purchases of finished goods and of services such as bulk storage, warehousing and toll packaging.

In this appointment you will see to it that the flow of activities from the Stenungsund and Leverkusen storage facilities to our customers will work in the optimum way. You will coordinate transport insurance and supervise customs issues as well as SAP key user activities. Soon the addition of the new plant in China will also mean extended responsibility for, and handling of supply chain matters of increased complexity.

You will report to the Marketing Manager Worldwide. Our logistics staff in Stenungsund, as well as the future logistics staff in China, will report to you. You will also be responsible for recommending the most suitable future organizational set-up needed to fulfil the above mentioned tasks in the most effective way possible.

Utbildning/Erfarenhet:
Good management qualities and experience in organization development are needed, since you will play an important role in setting up the China operations. Analytical ability and ability to take the overall view, being proactive, a completer/finisher, taking responsibility as well as being one of the team, are prerequisites.

Candidates should be graduates in transport economics or logistics with at least five years' experience from a similar position, preferably in the chemicals industry, and in the handling of dangerous goods. The most suitable candidate has a proven record of managing road, rail and overseas transports. Strong managerial, leadership, communication and negotiation skills are required. Knowledge of working in the SAP environment is a bonus.
