Thule Group’s product portfolio is growing and there is a steady stream of new development projects.

To enable the expansion and in parallel support the R&D organization we need to strengthen the Design Department with a Surface Designer based in Hillerstorp.

As a Surface Designer you will be involved in the development of new products such as equipment for cycling-, water- and winter sports, roof boxes, roof top tents, bike trailers, strollers and child bike seats and bags etc.

You will be responsible for surface modelling and take part in securing the visual quality of product surfaces and parts. Your main focus will be to support the rest of the design team in digitally realizing their visual and functional ideas, as well as safeguarding that outcome throughout the development projects. You will work in close cooperation with our development department and provide them with feedback on surfaces, part execution and quality.

We are looking for a self- motivated team player who brings a positive attitude and a cooperative mindset. You have a detail oriented and structured approach and feel comfortable working towards deadlines.

In addition, you are familiar with relevant manufacturing processes and how they pertain to product design. This role requires an understanding of design principles and a well-developed aesthetic sense as well as training, experience and a genuine interest in 3D CAD packages with a focus on surfacing, preferably from Alias and SolidWorks. You are fluent in Swedish and English and have an appropriate academic degree combined with a couple of years’ experiences from a similar role.

About our Global Product Development Department:
We have over 150 engineers working in our Global Product Development Department and to keep the momentum in successful product development innovation, most of our Product Development functions are in-house, such as project managers, industrial designers, concept-, design-, prototype-, simulation- and test-engineers.

Our team consists of highly skilled and motivated members with a well-balanced variety of experiences. We are a truly global company with an international and multi culturally mixed team. English is the language we use in our daily communication.
