What we offer
The Sustainability team in Global Procurement is a key contributor in delivering Volvo’s commitment for the highest standards in the sustainability field. In short, our biggest job will be to solve the consumer dilemma of moving freely, yet sustainably. By 2025, our total carbon emissions per car will have to decrease by 40%, including major reductions in emissions from our supply chain.
The Sustainability team works across two different products – Circular economy & Climate action and Responsible & Ethical Business. We are now looking to add a team member in Responsible and Ethical business. In this product, we collectively address the ethical challenges connected to a global and diverse supply chain and strive towards building the most responsible supply chains within the industry.
Being part of the Sustainability team in Global Procurement, you will be involved in deliveries like:
You will lead the work to ensure our supply chains are responsible and ethical at all levels, with a view to full transparency and traceability. This includes ensuring sustainability is part of every purchasing decision and providing tools for buyers to act on sustainability elements with clarity and confidence. You will ensure that Volvo Cars is well prepared for future legislation related to global supply chains, such as EU mandatory due diligence legislation, set sustainability standards, tools and methods that are relevant to the procurement organization, including KPI’s and reporting progress.
As a team member within Responsible and Ethical business, it is expected to:
- Be highly knowledgeable in the sustainability field and know how to balance and merge environmental, social and economic business aspects to shape the future of mobility.
- Be forward looking with proven track record in how to transform operations to contribute to a responsible and circular society.
- Have significant experience from working with global supply chains and setting up structures and due diligence activities to ensure responsible business
- Have a structured way of working, strong collaboration skills and at the same time an ability to take ownership
- Have significant prior experience of working with supply chain evaluations and/or due diligence mapping. On field audit experience considered a merit.
- Be used to analyse complex sustainability data to gain insights for business purposes and decision making.
You are:
- A true changemaker, with a passionate belief that Volvo Cars can have a planet positive impact as a company.
- A person with a global mindset and good communication skills working with business partners from all regions
- An excellent communicator, with good knowledge of how to craft, describe, and share information through the use of narratives to build trust, inspire and create an emotional connection to an audience with courage and credibility.
- In possession of a university degree in a relevant field to sustainability, and 5 -10 years of experience in working with sustainability issues in large global companies, preferably within due diligence and compliance practices.
