System Engineer

The electrical and electronics architecture of our trucks is developed to fulfil the requirements of the different brands and segments within the Volvo group globally. The development work is done in an international environment as we are working together with colleagues from around the world to solve the challenges for the different truck models and brands. We are currently facing a large challenge in developing the next generation of the EE architecture and at the same time further develop and maintain the current architecture. The Systems Engineering & Verification group is responsible for maintaining and developing the current electronic and electrical system as well as performing formal verification and validation of the system. The responsibility includes managing system requirements, function allocation, network protocols and signal communications as well as detailed schematics and power management. Job description: As part of the system team you will take part in analysis, specification and review of system requirements and allocation of new functionality as well as assisting in complex trouble shooting. You will also work with ensuring EE system strategies are fulfilled and system resources and vehicle network communications are used efficiently. You will be required to understand and to be able to validate the usage of the EE system in our products. You will take part in further development of processes and methods within the system development area as well as quality assurance on EE system level. We believe that you have the following qualifications: - Masters degree in electrical engineering, computer science or similar - Experience in system design of embedded realtime systems - Experience in managing functional requirements and vehicle network communication - Knowledge of analogue and digital circuit design - Good understanding of embedded software development - Good analytic skills - Good communication skills - Business and customer oriented - Fluent in written and spoken English - Experience from the automotive industry is a merit
