 Being a System Engineer

We are now offering a fascinating position as a Systems Engineer to join our team. Reporting to the System Engineering Manager of our Gate Business, the Systems Engineer Aviation will be focused on the delivery of Gate solutions into customer environments. This role involves international travel as our solutions are used at hundreds of airports across the globe, including the top 10 busiest airports. This role provides a fantastic opportunity to work on projects around the world and to experience many different cultures.

Responsibilities
You will also:
·       Document the implementation and design of solutions.
·       Support the dedicated Service Team in cut over post go live.
·       Deliver training for customers on the GATE Solution.
·       Support best practice processes: ITIL knowledge, DevOps environments a plus.
·       Targeting in quality, in time and in budget execution.
·       Follow the DevOps principles, interfacing with internal and external stakeholders.
·       Providing key input to the agile development processes and product design.

Qualifications
You have:
·       Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in IT or Computer Science related subject
·       Ability to travel and work overseas for potentially multiple weeks at a time
·       Ability to pass a Criminal Records Check for an airport airside pass
·       Great English proficiency is a must. Any additional language is an asset

Good to have:
·       Degree level qualification or equivalent in IT or Computer Science related subject
·       Experience of international working
·       Experience with (Azure) DevOps
·       Experience with TCP/IP networking

Technical Requirements:
·       RDBMS on administration level (PostgreSQL is a plus)
·       Linux and Windows system (administration level)
·       Virtualization (VM or Microsoft)
·       Azure cloud solution, Docker and/or Kubernetes
·       Network on administration level (certificate is a plus).
·       One programming language with proven project accomplishments
·       Active Directory/LDAP knowledge
