System Environment Configuration Expert and System Administrator - Windows Server, .NET FW, SQL Server, Oracle and VM Ware at International Telecom Software Company The Position Ascade is the global market leader in software solutions supporting trade of international telecom traffic.Our customers are big telecom operators around the globe.Together with colleagues and customers' IT technicians you will make sure that Ascade's multi server software solution gets installed and configured to guarantee functionality, stability and performance within the operators network.The job will be performed both on-site at customers and remotely from Ascade's office in central Stockholm.You will also act as an expert towards Ascade personnel within the Support, Project and R&D departments, helping them with advice and advanced troubleshooting of environment related problems as well as installation and configuration of test and development environments.The second part of your job will be to work in the System Administrator group, taking care of Ascade's internal server environment and back-office infrastructure, including Windows 2003 Server, Exchange 2007, VM Ware ESX virtualization platform etc.Required Background and Personality The role requires deep knowledge and experience from Windows Server as an application platform, including IIS, COM/DCOM and .NET Framework.MS SQL Server, Analysis Services, Reporting Services and Oracle database knowledge are also important components.Unix (HP-UX) knowledge is an additional merit.Since you will work a lot together with colleagues and customers, you should enjoy team work and be an excellent communicator in both Swedish and English.You might have one of the following backgrounds (but we also look closely on each individual's capabilities, independent of background): .You are an experienced systems administrator focusing on Windows Server as an application platform rather than as an administrative system.You would like to take on a new challenge within a small/medium sized, very international software company where your contribution really makes a difference..You are a former system developer who drifted into Windows Server platform technologies, application implementation and configuration just because you enjoy understanding how it all comes together to a working system..You are a smart, analytical recent University graduate with a burning IT interest.Just for the fun of it, you have developed several own applications that are making use of standard Windows Server functionality like IIS and .NET FW and in the process you learnt the in and outs of Windows Server.From a technical perspective, knowledge and experience from the following is a merit: .Windows Server 2003 and 2000 .IIS .COM/DCOM ..NET Framework .Oracle 10g .MS SQL Server 2005 .MS Analysis Services and Reporting Services .UNIX (mainly HP/UX) .Networking (firewalls, VPN, general Ethernet based LANs) .MS Exchange 2007 .Active Directory .VM Ware ESX platform Application The application should include at least an introduction/application letter and a resume/CV.Diplomas, grades and references can be supplied later in the process.We would like to have your application by 2008-05-18.(The recruitment process is on-going and the position might be filled before this date.
