System Program Leader

Department Electric Propulsion Systems (EPS) is responsible for development of High Voltage (HV) System design, HV Batteries, Electric Machines, Inverters, Power supplies and On-Board Chargers. Within the Department, the newly formed EPS Project Section will lead all projects in all phases. The group consists of 8 employees and its purpose is to steer activities for all projects against the set objectives for the collected efforts of the projects.

As System Program Leader you will project lead in a very young team which is eager to Electrify our brand in a broad effort with Plug-In Hybrids (PHEVs) and Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs). You will also assure that Best Practice methods for Project Management are applied in EPS. The position reports to the Senior Manager for EPS Projects. Interaction within the whole EPS department is important, as well as with other units within R&D, and even wider in Volvo Cars and CEVT/Geely.

Main responsibilities

* Operate and manage product development projects against the set objectives
* Track program status and drive corrective actions if outside committed targets
* Compile, aggregate and report program status through the Program Status Report (PSR)
* Give recommendations at milestones/gateways
* Main Responsibility is from the gate Program Confirmation <PC> to <FSR> (Final Status Report) but the role can be in action already from Program Start <PS>
* Cross-functional project management responsibility with Purchasing, Manufacturing, Service and After Sales

Required qualifications

* M. Sc. or B. Sc in a relevant field
* Good practical and theoretical knowledge within the Powertrain or Electrical fields
* Experience in projects and of an Automotive production start
* Experience in personnel and task management
* Good knowledge of release of technical design documents, task and deviation management, planning, project monitoring, financial control
* Complete vehicle knowledge and good knowledge on the complete system level
* Experience from Automotive Project Management is meritorious
