Systems Developer – Manufacturing Automation

Systems Developer – Manufacturing Automation

Arbetsbeskrivning

At the digital preparation department at Sandvik Coromant in Gimo, we’re responsible for ensuring a stable production environment by keeping information flowing to and from production. We’re now looking for a communicative and driven Systems Developer for Manufacturing Automation to create and develop our services and technology. We welcome you to an innovative team at the forefront of Industry 4.0, who’s aiming to push the limits of production technology!

Our production unit in Gimo
In our production flow, we’re primarily using automatic processes and robots – all the way from managing raw materials to finalized products. Some production cells run entirely without any human interaction. It’s an environment that places great demands on connectivity and seamless flow through the production chain, and high digitalization level information management between our software and machines – creating significant benefits in analytics, accuracy, efficiency and economy.

Your mission
You develop solutions for automatically deriving and creating production data – such as drawings, machine programs, measuring programs, and process lists – from product data and CAD models. You do programming in various languages such as Java, C#, and our internal domain specific languages to name a few, in order to create a seamless flow of information throughout our different processes.
This naturally includes design, development, testing, debugging and implementing information to production processes. You suggest solutions and functionality to our Business Partners and provide technical assistance to our application developer team. You work on projects for our Gimo site as well as our other production units globally.

Your profile
You have knowledge and experience of programming and engineering, and preferably a background in manufacturing and industrial engineering. As we work in a global setting, good English skills are needed – both written and verbal.
It is highly beneficial if you have:
Experience of CAD/CAM systems and solutions.
Broad knowledge of Java, C#, Python and other languages that comes naturally.
Work experience of delivering solutions with agility in focus.
Solution design and product development experience.
Knowledge of MES (Manufacturing Execution System) platforms
Experience in creating solutions for I4.0 using the latest technology stacks for AI (Artificial Intelligence), ML (Machine Learning) using Big Data approach.

Your personality makes us better! You’re a structured individual who always has the best interest of the business in mind, and as a forward-thinker you solve problems, testing scenarios and evaluating different angles. Creating trustworthy collaborations is one of your strengths, and you use your effective communication skills to share information and knowledge to increase our common expertise and find successful solutions. You’re also eager to dig deep into new and innovative technology and digital development, making sure that we constantly improve ourselves in a rapidly changing world, to keep our position as a frontrunner in automated manufacturing methods.
