Systems Developer/Analyst

Position Title: Systems Developer/Analyst Purpose This position has two primary roles: * Systems Developer: Serves as a developer/programmer on core DC technical development projects. * Systems Analyst: Serves with design and analysis input to ongoing technical development projects, including primarily software projects, but longer term, when time allows, also standards development. Working location Work is performed from the employees home, coupled with recurring face-to-face meetings in Stockholm. Qualifications and Experience * Extensive experience in programming on complex systems using the object oriented paradigm. * Experience in design, modeling and problem solving within complex systems. * Extensive experience in development within XML-centric domains. * Extensive experience in development using XML APIs (e.g. SAX, DOM, XSLT). * Experience in development of cross-platform applications (Windows, Linux, Mac) * Well developed knowledge of the Java and/or .NET platforms. * Practical understanding of the iterative development processes. * Extensive knowledge and understanding of the standards and technologies upon which DAISY builds (e.g. core W3C, OASIS efforts, multimedia.) * Good English language written and verbal communications skills. * Ability to work independently, as well as in distributed teams. * Proven ability to gracefully handle high workloads during peek periods.
