At division Rocks Tools in Sandviken, our Logistics department is liable for ensuring that our materials supply meet customer demands regarding lead times and satisfaction. To temporarily join us for approximately one year, we’re now looking for two Tactical Purchaser for Direct Material. If you’re eager to work with an extensive global network and support us in driving sourcing development, this is a great chance to build you career and broaden your competence!

About the job
In this position, team spirit and a broad network is key. You guide and develop supplier relationships and collaborate with our Sourcing department regarding contract negotiations and strategy – ensuring fulfillment of purchasing policies and processes, and compliance with ethical standards, relevant laws and regulations. Balancing costs in with service levels is a daily challenge for you, and you form good relationships with our internal functions within planning, production, quality, R&D and product management.

To be a bit more specific, your main responsibilities include:
Follow up and monitor suppliers and actively take actions that improve their performance
Manage supplier forecasts, identify and implement projects that deliver cost savings and increased value
Continually initiate and lead process improvements, participate in negotiations and implement new supply flows


While applying flexible working conditions, you’re based in Sandviken, where we have one of our main production hubs. Some travel is normally included to meet with all parts of our global business.

And what about you?
We’re looking for someone with previous work experience – either from a relevant area in our Rock Tools business or from a purchasing position within manufacturing, where you’ve been part of international purchasing activities at a tactical or strategic level. You most likely hold a degree in Industrial Engineering and Management or Logistics, and you’re a skilled user of Excel. As we act locally as well as on the global stage, you also communicate fluently in Swedish and English.

You’ve got the ability to combine details with the bigger picture and, as a strategical thinker, you easily evaluate various alternatives, analyze risks and initiate change. Your open, inclusive and trusting manner - along with your great stakeholder management skills - enable you to build excellent relationships and cross functional collaborations. On top of this, you’re driven and know how to create commitment. You embrace new perspectives and completely new ways of thinking, while finalizing your tasks and continually developing your own knowledge and expertise!
